Games we play!
At Southern Maryland Paintball, we offer a variety of exciting game modes for paintball, airsoft, and GellyBall. Whether you’re strategizing with a team or going all-out in a battle royale, these game options deliver action-packed fun for every player.
Capture the flag
One of the most popular game choices among recreational players, Capture the Flag is simple yet allows for a range of strategic gameplay. Two teams start at their respective home bases. The objective is to reach the enemy's base, capture their flag, and return it to your starting location without being eliminated. The first team to successfully capture and return the flag wins!
Domination
Also known as “Last Man Standing,” Domination has a straightforward goal: completely eliminate the other team. Two teams begin at their designated starting locations. The objective is to seek out and eliminate opposing players. The first team to be entirely eliminated loses!
Medic
In this game, teamwork and communication are key. Players are not eliminated immediately upon being hit; instead, they must call for a "Medic" to revive them. Medics must physically reach the injured player, clean the hit area, and remove one of their "life tokens" (such as playing cards or coins). Once a player has lost all of their lives, they are officially out. Medics can also be eliminated in some variations of the game. The first team to eliminate all opposing players (or all enemy Medics) wins.
Team Deathmatch
Play until one team is completely eliminated, or until time runs out. If time expires, the team with the most surviving players wins.
John Wick
Players can only be eliminated by an upper-body shot (chest, neck, or head). When hit, they must return to their base to respawn. Each player has three respawns. The last team standing wins.
Attack & Defend
One team is tasked with defending a base, while the other team must attack and reach a designated target area. The attackers win by successfully reaching and touching the target. If the defending team can hold off the attackers until time runs out, they win instead.
Hot Potato
One team starts with a ball and must get it to the opposing team's side of the field. The ball can be thrown, shot, or even punted. When time expires, the team that has the ball on their side loses.
Center Flag
Similar to Capture the Flag, but with one key difference—there is only one flag. A single flag is placed in the center of the field, equidistant from both teams. The goal is to retrieve the flag and bring it to the opposing team's base. A variation of this game involves returning the flag to your own base instead.
Freeze Tag
This game follows the same elimination-style gameplay as Domination but with a twist. Instead of being eliminated upon getting hit, players become "frozen" in place. A frozen player can be eliminated by an opposing player touching them, or they can be revived by a teammate before that happens. The first team to freeze and eliminate all opposing players wins!
Fox & Hound
A survival-based game that pits a small group of heavily armed "Foxes" against a much larger team of "Hounds." The Foxes are well-equipped with unlimited ammunition and advanced weapons, while the Hounds have limited ammo and may be restricted to single-shot loading. The goal is for the Foxes to survive and eliminate all Hounds—or for the Hounds to take down all Foxes first.
Protect the President
Each team selects a player (or two) to act as their "President," while the remaining players serve as bodyguards. The objective is to keep your President alive while attempting to eliminate the opposing team’s President. A variation of this game requires the President to reach a designated "safe zone" within a time limit. If the President is eliminated before reaching safety, the team loses.
Control
Teams battle to control as much of the field as possible. When time runs out, the team that holds the majority of the field wins.
Gladiator Ball
Each team must collect and deposit footballs into a barrel in the center of the field. If a player is hit while carrying a football, they must immediately drop it and return to their base to respawn. Only an active player may retrieve or deposit footballs. The team with the most footballs in the barrel at the end of the game wins!
